Punica granatum "Petrovac"
Mother plant was bought in 1974 in a small nursery on the coast near Petrovač, 1.5 hours drive from Podgoriča.
The buyer then planted the tree in his garden in Vienna, the plant is still there and enjoys excellent plant health.
The plant survived minus 18 degrees Celsius with return frost soon after planting.
In Vienna (USDA 8a), this variety ripens on average in mid-October, much earlier in recent years.

Without irrigation, most of the fruits are the size of a tennis ball, and smaller fruits are hardly formed. When watered, the fruit weight is over 500g
