  • Sowing is best done in the first half of the year.

    • The seeds are swollen in warm water for 24 hours.
    • Then they are wet with! not put wet sphagnum moss or sand or similar medium in a germination bag.
    • Germination takes place at around 24 degrees Celsius (75.2 °F) within several weeks to a maximum of 3 months. The germination rate for all our varieties is around 80 percent.
    • The pre-germinated seeds from the germination bags are then transplanted into slightly acidic, airy substrate. The survival rate of the seedlings in the first year is over 90 percent.

The germination is basically not particularly demanding. The biggest danger here is that the seeds get too wet and rot. This can easily be counteracted by the optimal choice of substrate.

The young plants must be protected from high levels of sunlight in the first summer.

The seedlings grow slowly at first and, depending on the variety, really get going after about 3 months. Large increases can be expected in the second year at the latest.

The germination rate, tested by us, is 80 percent. The seed is varietal and very fresh.
