Magnolia officinalis – Chinese magnolia
Magnolia officinalis is a deciduous tree belonging to the Magnoliaceae family and is native to the mountain forests of central and southern China. It produces large, elliptical leaves and fragrant, cream-white flowers that are not susceptible to late frosts. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the dried bark (Magnoliae officinalis cortex) is used, traditionally to aid digestion and to relieve bloating and internal tension.
