Ribes spec. "black honeyberry"
 
An extraordinarily sweet, dark red to almost black gooseberry hybrid with a honey-like flavour when fully ripe, which gives it its name.
 
Can be planted in both full and partial shade. 
Very vigorous up to a height of 1.7 metres.
 
Mass producer with early ripening and a long harvest period.
It is also unusual in that even half-ripe fruit tastes really good!
Balanced acidity profile.
 
Does very well under fruit trees in the foodforest/forest garden :)
